Spring is Fun

It's spring! In fact, now that I'm done with grad school and student teaching, it practically feels like summer! This hasn't kept Matt from going skiing every weekend, though. I decided weeks ago that I was done with snow and cold, but Matt hates to let go of his favorite activity. He told me that yesterday was his last ski day, but with A-Basin staying open through half of June, I don't believe it.

I somehow managed to tear Matt away from the ski slopes to go for a hike. The weather hasn't always cooperated, so we haven't been out as often as I would like. But there's still plenty of time this summer! A while back, we went up Lookout Mountain for a very windy walk.

Lots of rocks to scramble over, pretty views of dry and brown mountains.

It was still April when we went on the hike, so it was exciting to start to see the new growth that signaled spring was coming.

Green sprouts and the season's first wildflowers.

I've been trying to avoid thinking about the ridiculous stress that comes from looking for a job and preparing for interviews by hanging out with friends and family. And sewing purses, of course. Lots and lots of purses.

Anyway, friend time is helpful when trying to avoid thinking of serious life stuff.

Hanging with Mel. We prettied ourselves up with Robin's egg candy-coating lipstick (color blue) before heading out for a night (or an hour) on the town.

Easter was a fun and welcome distraction. We gathered at my parents' house for food and fun.

Our little Easter Bunny.

Cooking and playing.

Other than the above bits of fun, my life has been nothing but resumes, cover letters, and practice interview questions. But I'm hopeful that one of these job prospects will pan out and I'll be able to relax a little. Until then, I welcome any distraction that comes my way!
